Job Title: Trusts and Estates Legal Assistant/Paralegal
Job Responsibilities:
The Trusts and Estates Legal Assistant/Paralegal at the law firm will play a crucial role in supporting the Estates and Trusts attorneys within the General Business practice. The candidate will be responsible for a variety of tasks essential for effective estate planning and administration. Key duties include:
- Conducting legal research pertinent to estate planning and probate matters.
- Managing and organizing client files to ensure all data is accurate and up-to-date.
- Witnessing and notarizing document signings to ensure legal compliance.
- Filing necessary tax documents related to estate and trust matters.
- Collecting and managing client information while delivering exceptional customer service.
- Maintaining accurate client data in a paperless office environment.
- Managing and coordinating attorney calendars, scheduling, and travel plans.
- Handling all incoming mail and identifying important tasks.
- Assisting with complex estate planning efforts.
- Organizing, filing, and managing both electronic and paper documents.
- Typing at a speed of 60-70 words per minute.
- Tracking billable time on a daily basis.
- Preparing legal documents and general correspondence accurately and in a timely manner, including proofreading, editing, and formatting documents.
Education and Experience Information:
- At least 1 year of experience in trusts, estates, and/or probate is preferred.
- A Bachelor's Degree or Paralegal Certificate is considered a plus.
- The candidate must possess excellent communication skills and be proficient in software such as Word, Outlook, and e-filing.
- Critical thinking and organizational skills are essential for this role.
Salary Information:
The compensation for this position ranges from $50,000 to $80,000 annually, which includes a bonus.
