Job Title: Business Intelligence Analyst

Job Responsibilities:
The Business Intelligence Analyst is responsible for a range of duties essential for successful job performance within a law firm. Key responsibilities include:

- Collecting, organizing, and maintaining critical business intelligence, which encompasses:
- Experience Data: This involves gathering information on matter descriptions, jurisdictional expertise, industry and sector familiarity, and understanding practice nuances.
- Relationship Data: The analyst is tasked with mapping "Who-Knows-Whom," identifying referral sources, judges, co-counsel, opposing counsel, clients, prospects, alumni, and other key contacts.
- Rankings & Credentials: The analyst must track firm and attorney rankings, awards, and specialized educational credentials.
- Industry Trends: Monitoring trends affecting current and prospective clients and target sectors is essential.
- White Space Analysis: Identifying underdeveloped or emerging practice areas and client needs to support targeted business development efforts.

- Standardizing and systematizing the collection and maintenance of business intelligence across the firm's systems and platforms to facilitate efficient retrieval and analysis.

- Partnering with internal stakeholders to ensure that business intelligence is actionable, current, and easily accessible for marketing, client development, and strategic initiatives.

- Conducting competitive research and market trend analysis to inform business development strategies and practice planning.

- Creating visual dashboards, profiles, and reports that summarize intelligence insights to support decision-making at the firm, practice group, and client team levels.

- Establishing and maintaining news and litigation alerts to track updates on clients, prospects, and industries of strategic interest.

- Contributing to cross-practice and firmwide initiatives aimed at strengthening the firm's competitive positioning and market responsiveness.

Education and Experience Information:
- A is required.
- The candidate should have 3+ years of experience in competitive intelligence, knowledge management, market research, business analysis, or business development, preferably in a law firm, consulting, or professional services environment.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
- Strong analytical, research, and data management skills are essential, with the ability to extract meaningful insights from complex datasets.
- Familiarity with client relationship mapping, rankings and credential tracking, and market opportunity analyses is required.
- Experience with CRM and databases common to the legal industry is necessary.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills are crucial, with the ability to distill complex research into clear, actionable summaries.
- High attention to detail and strong project management skills are needed, as well as the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
- A proactive, self-motivated, and collaborative approach to work is expected.

Salary Information:
- Illinois applicant salary benchmark: $80,000 - $100,000, commensurate with experience.
- Washington . applicant salary benchmark: $115,000 - $135,000, commensurate with experience.
- California applicant salary benchmark: $115,000 - $135,000, commensurate with experience.
