Job Title: Immigration Paralegal
Job Responsibilities:
- Familiarity with a wide range of employment-based immigration practices is essential.
- Collaborating within a team environment to enhance knowledge of the law firm, client, and immigration processes.
- Taking the lead in client communications under the direction of an attorney, including case intake, document collection, and issue resolution.
- Providing guidance on software systems and case processing to clients and foreign nationals as directed by attorneys.
- Developing competent case handling skills while expanding knowledge and independence.
- Evaluating cases, communicating concerns, and escalating issues proactively and appropriately when necessary.
- Drafting petition forms and support letters, and assembling supporting documents for attorney review.
- Running weekly case reports for attorneys using INSZoom Reports and possibly generating client reports for attorney-client calls.
- Demonstrating competence with case management and other reporting tools and technologies for data and information management.
- Managing the status of all filed applications and petitions according to policy and utilizing the law firm's document, data management, and accounting/billing systems to prepare, monitor, and record all work aspects.
- Contacting government agencies as directed to obtain information regarding potential process delays or issues, and communicating the same to attorneys.
- Conducting pertinent research to gather necessary information, such as company or industry background, current wages, processing procedures, and standard processing times.
- Managing multiple assignments and/or deadlines while maintaining professionalism and seeking assistance when needed.
- Offering assistance to others when necessary.
- Maintaining an exceptional client service attitude and professional demeanor.
- Showing initiative, flexibility, resiliency, and a willingness to adapt to change.
- Taking ownership of tasks and completing them without the need for supervision.
- Maintaining a positive attitude when interacting with clients, co-workers, and attorneys.
- Contributing to an atmosphere of teamwork and congeniality.
Education and Experience Information:
- A minimum of 5-10 years of experience as an immigration paralegal or program manager is required.
- Experience preparing H-1B, L-1, TN, and PERM applications, preferably in a large law firm environment.
- Proficiency in Word, Outlook, LawLogix or INSZoom, and a document management system.
- Outstanding case management and organizational skills are necessary.
- Successful candidates will possess strong business writing skills and attention to detail.

- The hourly rate range for this position is - . Actual base pay within this range will be determined by various factors, including but not limited to, location, relevant experience, internal equity, skills, qualifications, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
