H2: Job Description
• Lead and implement technology and analytical aspects of firm's data function
• Develop data-driven strategies to enhance operations, improve decision-making, and optimize AI solutions
• Manage a high-performing team of Data Architects, Data Engineers, and Data Analysts
• Collaborate with firm's leadership and key stakeholders to define vision, strategy, and roadmap for data initiatives
• Design and implement data insight products and services to be operationalized at scale
• Ensure data science outputs are practical and easy to integrate into daily business operations
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to embed data-driven practices into business processes
• Support product team in incorporating AI and machine learning to automate legal processes and improve efficiency
• Act as main liaison between business units and technical teams to ensure alignment with data strategy
• Own data discovery process and ensure compliance with data governance and security protocols
• Recruit, train, and mentor diverse data science team
• Participate as member of change control process and report metrics to Enterprise Applications Department Management team

• Reports to Director of Enterprise Application and works closely with Global Information Technology Teams
• Builds strong relationships with direct reports, peer managers, directors, executives, and external vendors
• Collaborates with cross-functional teams from Business Development, Finance, HR, Reporting, and Records

• Develop and implement data-driven strategies
• Manage data team and oversee creation and maintenance of reliable data pipelines and workflows
• Collaborate with Data Governance, Security, and IT Operations to enforce data governance and security protocols
• Participate in requirements gathering process and design data insight products and services
• Ensure data science outputs are practical and easy to integrate into daily business operations
• Drive innovation by supporting product team in incorporating AI and machine learning
• Collaborate with other elements of firm's data function
• Convey complex data science concepts to non-technical stakeholders
• Act as main liaison between business units and technical teams
• Own data discovery process and design data platform
• Facilitate enforcement of data governance by designing systems and procedures
• Develop automated data processing and analytics pipelines
• Exemplify principles of Enterprise Applications Team and participate as member of change control process
• Define team roles and responsibilities and recruit, train, and mentor data science team
• Serve as direct supervisor and offer mentoring and guidance
• Participate in hiring processes and performance evaluations
• Report metrics and manage incident and request queues
• Supervise daily activities of direct reports
• Participate in employee lifecycle events
H2: Experience and Skills Required
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, statistics, applied mathematics, or related field
• 8+ years of experience in data science or data engineering/architecture roles
• 5+ years of experience in professional service organization with people supervision and project management experience
• Expertise in managing large-scale data projects and designing solutions that comply with global data handling and regulatory standards
• Knowledge of legal industry and experience working with cloud technologies
• Applicable industry certifications in Data Science/Engineering
• Experience influencing and collaborating with multiple departments to drive successful outcomes
• Familiarity with distributed systems and organizational structures

• Ability to work in a team with members in different offices/time zones
• Willingness to travel
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other firm applications

Salary range of $143,000 - $286,000, determined during interview process based on factors such as experience, expertise, and market factors.
