Job Title: Paralegal, Litigation
Job Responsibilities
The Paralegal, Litigation position involves providing substantial organizational and practice support to the Chief Litigation Counsel and other attorneys in the litigation group within the legal department. Key responsibilities include:
- Tracking case filings and case categorization, including settlements and dismissals, for all litigation and updating tracking charts for finance and other internal stakeholders in the United States and France.
- Managing litigation reporting in a global litigation database.
- Collecting, cataloguing, and reviewing documents, including coordinating with overseas colleagues for global documents.
- Liaising with outside counsel and e-discovery vendors concerning the production of documents.
- Coordinating with the Cyber Security team regarding the identification of relevant custodians and electronic document “freeze" notifications and collections.
- Identifying and communicating with potential persons of knowledge, including scheduling meetings and managing logistics.
- Liaising with outside counsel on tracking deadlines and court dates.
- Liaising with the billing coordinator and outside counsel on litigation budgets.
- Assisting with the response to subpoenas and other requests for information.
- Providing administrative assistance to the Chief Litigation Counsel and other attorneys in the litigation group.
Education and Experience Information
The position requires a bachelor's degree, with at least 5 years of experience preferred. The candidate should be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. The role demands a self-starter and team player who can accept direction yet work independently. Excellent prioritization and time management skills are essential, along with outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral. The ability to effectively interface with all levels of personnel within a global organization and with external clients, including outside counsel, is crucial. The candidate must demonstrate flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced work environment, a strong client-first work ethic, and the ability to remain calm under pressure. Strong attention to detail is also required.
Salary Information
The salary range for the Paralegal, Litigation position is $90,100 to $128,400. The actual compensation will depend on various job-related factors, which may include geographic location, work experience, education, and skill level.
