Job Title: Real Estate Paralegal
Job Responsibilities:
The Real Estate Paralegal at the company plays a crucial role in supporting the property development attorneys and business counterparts, focusing exclusively on property development functions. Key responsibilities include:
- Reviewing, revising, and analyzing leases, letters of intent, amendments, declarations, easements, and other contracts related to real estate and development.
- Reviewing title and survey documents for sites, drafting title objection letters, and internal memos, and communicating with sellers, title companies, surveyors, and landlords.
- Reviewing, revising, and analyzing purchase agreements to prepare comprehensive closing checklists and documents, and coordinating internally and externally for efficient real estate closings.
- Preparing first drafts of simple purchase agreements, amendments to purchase agreements and leases, and other correspondence for attorney review and approval.
- Assisting property development attorneys, paralegals, and business counterparts in all aspects of real estate and development, including property management and lease administration.
- Tracking and managing critical dates within contracts.
- Reviewing due diligence and responding to due diligence requests.
- Reviewing and assisting with joint venture agreements and property management agreements.
- Preparing first drafts of less complex property management agreements and amendments.
- Analyzing the need for real estate and broker licenses for business lines in new jurisdictions.
- Tracking the status of real estate and broker licenses and permits in various jurisdictions.
Education and Experience Information:
Minimum Required Qualifications:
- Experience in reviewing, revising, and analyzing leases and purchase agreements.
- Experience in preparing for and managing real estate closings.
- Experience in reviewing title and survey documents.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Highly organized with strong critical thinking and analytical skills.
- Ability to effectively multi-task with tight deadlines independently and as part of a team.
- Self-motivated with the ability to build strong interpersonal/working relationships with business unit owners.
- Proficient in operating a personal computer and experienced with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, WebEx, Microsoft Teams, Smartsheets, and PowerPoint.
- Experience in real estate and broker licensing requirements, various types of real estate joint ventures, and property management agreements.
Education:
- . degree is required, but a . degree is preferred.
Years of Experience:
- 5 to 10 years of experience as a real estate paralegal, preferably in-house or at a law firm.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in a related field.
- Experience at an in-house or law firm.
- Ability to effectively multi-task with tight deadlines independently and on a team with diverse personalities and work styles.
- Self-motivated and able to build strong interpersonal/working relationships with business unit owners.
- Proficient in operating a personal computer and experienced with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
Salary Information:
This is an hourly position with wages starting at and paying up to , based on experience and qualifications.
