Job Title: Civil Litigation Paralegal

Job Responsibilities:

Litigation & Case Management:
- Draft and file pleadings, motions, and discovery documents for both state and federal courts.
- Manage litigation calendars, ensuring every deadline—from discovery to hearings—is met without exception.
- E-file documents accurately and timely in court systems.
- Prepare for trial by organizing exhibits, assembling trial binders, and coordinating with clients and witnesses.
- Maintain oversight of a high-volume docket, driving cases forward efficiently.

Office Operations & Leadership:
- Serve as a key liaison between attorneys and support staff to ensure seamless daily operations.
- Tackle office needs—from workflow troubleshooting to implementing new Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)—with a solution-focused mindset.
- Help optimize firm procedures to increase productivity and consistency.

Client Relationship Management:
- Provide proactive updates and maintain clear communication with clients throughout the litigation process.
- Build trust through professionalism, responsiveness, and client-first advocacy.

Administrative Oversight:
- Support general administrative duties as needed.
- Contribute strategic input on improving client services and overall operational effectiveness.

Education and Experience Information:

Experience & Education:
- 5–10 years of legal experience, including at least 5 years in civil litigation (plaintiff-side preferred).
- Strong trial preparation and motion drafting background; file-to-trial experience essential.
- Paralegal certificate from an ABA-approved program is preferred, but equivalent practical experience will be considered for candidates with 10+ years in litigation.
- Bonus if you bring project or office management experience from a prior career path.

Skills & Tools:
- Exceptional legal drafting, calendaring, and e-filing capabilities.
- Highly organized and able to manage multiple tasks with precision.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, Mac systems, and cloud-based legal software like MyCase, Slack, and Zoom.

- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Grace under pressure and calm in high-stakes situations.
- Spanish bilingual skills are a plus but not required.

Other Requirements:
- Notary certification or willingness to obtain.
- Live within 30 minutes of the office for timely, reliable attendance.
- Must pass a background check.

Salary Information:
- $70,000–$75,000 annual salary, based on experience.
- Health insurance stipend provided.
- 401(k) plan coming soon as the firm expands.

- Pay: $70, - $75, per year
- Schedule: 8 hour shift, Monday to Friday
- Ability to Commute: Houston, TX 77066 (Required)
- Work Location: In person
