Job Title:
Paralegal – Defense Litigation
Job Responsibilities:
- Handle cases related to medical malpractice, general liability, and professional liability.
- Perform daily time entry billing, ensuring accurate and timely recording of work hours.
- Review, analyze, and summarize medical records pertinent to cases.
- Manage cases from inception to resolution, ensuring adherence to all court deadlines.
- Assist in trial preparation, including organizing exhibits, documents, and evidence for court proceedings.
- Collaborate effectively with attorneys, other paralegals, clients, and experts, utilizing a team-based approach.
- Conduct legal research, with proficiency in using Lexis as an added advantage.
- Utilize Microsoft Office Suite proficiently for document preparation and management.
Education and Experience Information:
- A Certificate in Paralegal Studies from an ABA-approved organization or a bachelor's degree is required.
- Familiarity and experience with Pennsylvania law are essential.
- Prior experience in defense litigation, particularly in the fields of medical malpractice, general liability, and professional liability, is necessary.
- Experience in trial preparation is preferred.
