Job Responsibilities
The Facilities Technician at the law firm is tasked with maintaining the firm's property and performing essential upkeep tasks across the facilities. The role involves a variety of activities to ensure that the facilities remain tidy and functional. Key responsibilities include:
- Performing necessary cleaning activities, such as dusting and mopping, to ensure the space is always clean and maintained
- Completing routine maintenance tasks like minor repairs, replacing light bulbs, and emptying trash, recycling, and shredder bins
- Working safely and notifying the Office Services staff of issues requiring immediate attention
- Providing ongoing updates to the Office Services staff regarding project status and completion
- Reporting to the Supervisor regarding issues resolved, those needing attention, and those in progress
- Handling office moves, including physical space relocation
- Fulfilling set-up needs for conference rooms and the AOS Shearman Room
- Obtaining temperature readings
- Offering help and back-up support in Office Services and the Stockroom when needed
- Performing other responsibilities as required

Education and Experience Information
Candidates for the Facilities Technician role should possess:
- A high school diploma (or equivalent)
- At least 3 to 5 years of maintenance work experience, or successful completion of apprenticeship training is preferred

- Knowledge of materials, methods, and tools involved in basic repairs, such as fixing desk drawers, locks, and chairs
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a strong customer-service focus
- Professional, helpful, and courteous disposition
- Care, accuracy, and attention to detail
- A strong team player with motivation, a positive attitude, and high energy
- Ability to work with a ticketing system from cell phones
- Capability to follow instructions carefully, prioritize tasks, take initiative, and inspire confidence
- Ability to assume responsibility, accept new tasks, and learn from experience
- Capacity to work independently and as part of a team
- Willingness to participate in overtime, including weekends, and work flexible hours when needed
- Physical ability to lift at least 75 lbs. and stand for extended periods
- Assist with deliveries outside of the loading dock
- Tolerance for handling cleaning supplies
- Willingness to learn and be fully involved in special projects, such as restacks, refurbishment, and electrical power outages
- Required to be on-site in the New York office five days a week

Salary Information
For individuals assigned to or hired for this opportunity in New York, the estimated annualized base salary range for this position is $45,000-$62,000. The actual base salary offered will depend on the overall qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, including, if applicable, the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
