Job Title: Regulatory Counsel

Job Responsibilities:
The Regulatory Counsel position offers a dynamic and client-facing role where the candidate will work with various teams within the company, including Underwriting, Comptrollers, Investments, Regulatory Reporting, Tax, and Litigation, as well as regulators. The position involves supporting the operations of the company's Property Casualty business with a focus on insurance regulatory matters. Key responsibilities include:

- Supporting issues related to insurance policy rate and form filings.
- Addressing market conduct and financial exams.
- Preparing regulatory filings such as Holding Company and company licensing.
- Partnering and interacting with state regulators.
- Handling consumer complaints and information requests.
- Providing guidance on financial statement disclosures.
- Monitoring insurance laws and actions by insurance departments.
- Collaborating closely and providing team support across Legal, Compliance, and other control functions.

Education and Experience:
The ideal candidate for the Regulatory Counsel position should have:

- A minimum of 7 years of experience in a major law firm or in-house within the insurance industry.
- Experience specifically with Property & Casualty insurance.
- Proven experience in handling insurance regulatory matters and expertise in one or more of the specified areas of responsibility.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to critically evaluate and analyze issues, recommending well-thought-out or creative solutions.
- Experience in drafting, mark-ups, and negotiation of agreements.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and develop creative solutions for diverse matters requiring complex legal and strategic analysis.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Strong organizational, time management, and project management skills.
- Capability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Knowledge of regulatory and risk management functions.
- Good judgment and ability to provide timely legal advice.
- Ability to identify and develop solutions to legal and business risks.
- A Juris Doctor (JD) degree and admittance to at least one state bar.

Salary Information:
The base salary range for this position in NYC is $150,000 - $172,000, and the position is eligible for a bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable incentive plan. The company offers a range of competitive benefits, which can be viewed in their benefits overview.
