Job Title: Trial Attorney/Sr. Trial Attorney-Albany/Latham, NY (Hybrid/Remote)
Job Responsibilities:
- Defend personal injury, property damage, and other related matters in and around Albany and Central New York.
- Prepare legal documents including pleadings, motions, briefs, letters, memoranda, reports, and occasionally appeals.
- Direct and undertake discovery practices such as depositions, expert selection, and all other pre-trial preparations.
- Communicate with clients and claims personnel to provide regular updates on the status of pending matters.
- Engage with opposing counsel, the courts, and others as necessary.
- Conduct legal research and brief issues using Lexis and other computer/web-based data sources, law reporters, and other law library materials.
- Develop litigation strategies for all assigned cases.
- Provide analysis to claims through legal opinions, recommendations, and digests of recent developments in decisional and statutory law.
- Report to the managing attorney concerning the status of matters and provide additional information as requested.
- Try cases to conclusion before judges, juries, and other triers of fact, including alternative dispute resolution (ADR).
Education and Experience:
- At least 7+ years of experience in New York.
- Juris Doctor degree from an ABA-accredited law school.
- Member in good standing of the New York Bar.
- Knowledge of and familiarity with New York laws, local court policies, and procedures.
Salary Information:
- The position offers a competitive base salary within the range of USD $116, - USD $167, per year.
