Job Title: IT Application Specialist
Job Responsibilities:
Operational:
- Provide exceptional customer service to all internal and external clients.
- Stay informed about technology trends related to software applications and cloud services, enabling evaluation and recommendation of tools that enhance services or create efficiencies.
- Assist Technical Support as an escalation point, troubleshooting and resolving application or cloud service issues, and providing guidance as needed.
- Coordinate with vendors for implementation and support purposes.
- Perform hands-on fixes at the desktop level, including software installation and upgrades, hardware installation, file backups, and system and application configuration.
- Test fixes and conduct post-resolution follow-ups to ensure problems are adequately resolved.
- Use a ticketing system to document the problem-solving process, including all decisions made and actions taken until final resolution.
- Develop and interpret technical documentation for training and end-user procedures.
- Contribute to knowledge base articles and FAQs on the company intranet to assist in problem resolution.
- Notify the Director of Technology and Director of Information Security of any security issues as they arise.
- Conduct installations and updates after hours as required.
- Provide after-hours escalation support on a rotation with other members of the Applications Team.
Application Lifecycle Management:
- Manage the complete lifecycle of all firm applications and user-facing cloud services, including testing, implementation, and administration.
- Maintain and enhance the performance of all new and existing applications across the organization.
- Perform preventive maintenance, including software and driver updates to keep operating systems and applications current and supported.
- Maintain the firm’s desktop image and deployment process.
- Support the testing of new and existing software applications under development or in proof of concept.
- Participate in the design, development, and delivery of software applications training programs with the firm's technical trainers.
- Promote user adoption and application usage through communications and training opportunities.
- Prioritize, schedule, and administer all instances where enhancements are required.
- Coordinate with department heads to assess departmental application training needs and objectives.
- Track project status and keep project management service current.
- Identify opportunities to develop expertise through training and certifications for self and other Application Specialists.
Education and Experience Information:
- College diploma or university degree in computer science, information systems, or 5 years equivalent work experience.
- Certifications like Microsoft 365, MTA, MCSA Windows 10/11, or MD-102 Endpoint Administrator are desired.
- In-depth hands-on knowledge and experience with enterprise and desktop applications, including all Microsoft Office applications, iManage Work, Zoom, Intune, SCCM, and PowerShell.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Autopilot and Intune for streamlined device deployment, mobile device management, and application deployments.
- Experience in project management with a focus on planning, execution, and delivery of IT-related projects.
- Proven experience with troubleshooting principles, methodologies, and issue resolution techniques, with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to operate with high energy and flexibility in a fast-paced, constantly evolving team environment.
- Highly self-motivated and directed with a deep personal commitment to integrity, excellent judgment, and high ethical standards.
- Ability to absorb new ideas and concepts quickly and effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
- Ability to conduct research into software development and delivery concepts, as well as technical application issues.
- Excellent written, oral, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
- Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
- Occasional travel between regional offices is required.
- Physical requirements include sitting for extended periods, dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, power tools, and handling other computer components, and lifting and transporting moderately heavy objects such as computers and peripherals.
