Job Title: Trademark Associate (#950) - New York

Job Responsibilities:
The Trademark Associate will primarily focus on trademark and copyright matters, including but not limited to:
- Trademark strategy, clearance, prosecution, and enforcement for both domestic and international matters.
- Copyright strategy, analysis, and filings, as well as handling digital content issues such as fair use, Uniform Domain-Name Dispute-Resolution Policy (UDRP) complaints, and online enforcement and takedown requests.
- Drafting intellectual property-related agreements, such as licenses and rights transfer agreements.
- Assisting with due diligence in purchase, sale, and financing transactions related to intellectual property assets.
- Handling opposition and cancellation proceedings before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board, with litigation support as needed.
- Working on advertising, marketing, and unfair competition matters.

Education and Experience Information:
- A Juris Doctor (.) degree from an American Bar Association (ABA)-accredited law school is required.
- Two to four years of experience in the intellectual property field, specifically in trademark and copyright matters, including trademark clearance, prosecution, and enforcement; copyright prosecution and enforcement; domain name disputes and UDRP proceedings; intellectual property assignments or licensing; intellectual property-related due diligence in corporate transactions; and Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) compliance matters.

Additional qualifications include:
- Exemplary organizational skills and a high level of attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple matters simultaneously.
- Proven track record of successfully managing client projects and deadlines independently.
- Experience with client interactions and direct communications.
- Excellent analytical and writing skills.
- Strong academic performance.
- Bar admission in Minnesota, New York, Colorado, or Utah.

Candidates with experience in intellectual property agreements (beyond licensing) and/or experience in advertising, contest, sweepstakes, and media/entertainment matters are preferred.

Salary Information:
For New York applicants, the salary range for this position is $245,000 - $265,000, determined based on the depth of experience in the practice area. The individual hired for this position may have the option of electing a lower billable-hours track with a proportional reduction in salary. Associates are also eligible to participate in the law firm's associate bonus program, subject to the program’s conditions and restrictions.
