Department: West Coast Regional Litigation Docketing Team
Location: Remote with proximity to one of the firm's six California offices: Sacramento, San Francisco, Silicon Valley, Los Angeles, Orange County, or San Diego

Position Summary:
The Litigation Docketing Specialist will join the West Coast Regional Litigation Docketing team, a group of experienced legal professionals who specialize in calendaring management. The team provides centralized docketing services for multiple offices, including national practice area groups. The specialist will be responsible for reviewing emails, making docketing decisions, communicating with case teams, and maintaining accurate calendar entries.
Responsibilities:
- Review emails and determine docketing necessity
- Make informed decisions on adding items to case teams' calendars
- Assess and prioritize received items
- Communicate with case teams for necessary information
- Conduct limited research as needed
- Respond to inquiries regarding docketed events and deadlines
- Maintain and improve processes and procedures
- Promote firm's docketing policies and procedures
Skills and Competencies:
- Substantial experience computing deadlines for state, federal, and appellate courts
- Strong knowledge of litigation processes, court rules, and procedures
- Strong critical thinking skills
- Ability to research, analyze, and summarize issues
- Familiarity with court websites and databases
- Ability to collaborate and establish effective working relationships
- Self-starter who can work independently
- Ability to work under pressure and prioritize tasks
- Excellent communication skills
- Attention to detail and organizational skills
- Computer proficiency in Windows-based software and Microsoft Office Suite
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience preferred
- Minimum 7 years of current California Litigation experience on case teams and 7 years of current Federal Litigation experience
- Prior experience with rules-based calendar systems required
- Prior litigation paralegal or legal secretary experience preferred
- Prior work experience in large firms preferred
- Exceptional computer skills and ability to learn new software quickly
