Job Title: Associate or Senior Attorney
Job Responsibilities:
The Associate or Senior Attorney at the law firm will be responsible for representing employers in various legal settings including mediation, arbitration, grievance proceedings, collective bargaining, and litigation before state and federal courts or local, state, and federal administrative agencies. The attorney will consult daily with clients on compliance with local, state, and federal laws, including HR matters and strategy. They will be tasked with negotiating and drafting collective bargaining agreements, employment agreements, non-solicitation and non-compete agreements, and settlement and separation agreements. Additionally, the attorney will research and draft legal advice memoranda, draft client alerts on changes in the law and best practices, conduct in-person client training and webinars on labor and employment law topics, and review, update, and draft policies and employee handbooks. The role also involves representing employers in labor law compliance under both the National Labor Relations Act and Ohio’s public sector bargaining law.
Education and Experience Information:
The ideal candidate for the Associate or Senior Attorney position should have 4-10 years of experience, particularly in managing and working on litigation files, whether employment litigation or otherwise. The candidate must possess a high degree of organization, dependability, and attention to detail, with a demonstrated ability to handle matters independently being a plus. The candidate must have excellent communication skills, sound judgment, and the ability to maintain a high level of client service. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, Westlaw, and Bloomberg is required. Admission to the Ohio State Bar is mandatory.
