Job Title: Support Oversight Manager
Job Responsibilities:
The Support Oversight Manager at the law firm is responsible for overseeing and managing the daily operations of the Paralegal and Secretarial Departments. Key responsibilities include:
- Assessing, assigning, managing, training, evaluating, and scheduling staff within these departments.
- Coordinating and overseeing daily operations, assignments, and workflow.
- Consulting with attorneys to devise departmental assessment plans for workflow and team assignments.
- Actively monitoring individual and departmental utilization and productivity.
- Collaborating with various department managers to integrate operational impacts.
- Regularly meeting with attorneys to assess work patterns and support requirements for case management.
- Consulting with senior managers to create and implement team programs and initiatives.
- Providing leadership, professional development guidance, and mentorship.
- Collaborating with peer managers to improve departmental efficiency and employee knowledge.
- Assisting in the creation of annual departmental budgets and monitoring them.
- Working with Human Resources on recruitment, meeting candidates, and providing feedback.
- Ensuring current knowledge of firm policies, industry trends, and professional development for staff.
- Utilizing the firm’s performance management process for performance expectations and management.
- Overseeing employees' work performance and guiding problem resolution.
- Initiating disciplinary procedures in collaboration with Human Resources.
- Monitoring time, attendance, overtime, and expense reports for accuracy and compliance.
- Recommending guidelines and practices for efficiency, effectiveness, and excellent customer service.
- Developing and communicating departmental guidelines and procedures.
- Ensuring timely responses to requests for departmental services.
- Demonstrating effective interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Managing firm resources responsibly and complying with firm operations, policies, and procedures.
- Performing other related duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant administrative management experience in a law firm or professional services field.
- Minimum of 10 years of leadership experience in a professional services environment.
- Bachelor’s degree required.
Salary Information:
The starting base salary for the Support Oversight Manager position is expected to be between $170,000 and $185,000. The actual salary will be determined based on skills, experience, and other job-related factors, consistent with applicable law.
