Job Title: Experienced Construction Paralegal
Job Responsibilities:
- File and document management
- Drafting discovery requests and responses, pleadings, motions, orders, and various correspondence
- Large document control and indexing
- Conducting online research of court records and official records
- Researching and analyzing statutes and case law
- Overseeing calendaring and deadlines
- Scheduling and coordinating hearings, depositions, and mediations
- Reviewing and summarizing construction contracts, bid documents, change orders, and other construction-related materials
- Supporting attorneys during hearings and trial proceedings as needed
Education and Experience Information:
- Paralegal certificate or degree from an ABA-approved paralegal program preferred but not required
- Minimum of 2 years of paralegal experience required
- Strong understanding of construction law, lien law, and legal procedures
- Proficiency in legal research tools such as Westlaw and LexisNexis, and case management software like ATO and Litify
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- High level of organization and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Preferred Skills:
- Familiarity with AIA contract documents and construction project documentation
- Familiarity with Florida Courts E-Filing Portal
Working Conditions:
- Full-time
- Office environment, with flexibility for occasional remote work based on business needs
- Occasional lifting up to 25 pounds
Salary Information:
- Pay: $45, - $54, per year
