Job Title: Senior Trial Preparation Assistant
Job Responsibilities:
The Senior Trial Preparation Assistant is tasked with providing essential support services to attorneys within the Office of Legal Affairs, specifically the Adult Protective Services Litigation and Program Counseling Unit (APS/LPCU). Key responsibilities include:
- Drafting pleadings and other legal documents using computer-generated templates.
- Responding to inquiries from in-house and external counsel, program staff, vendors, and other parties involved in legal proceedings.
- Filing papers in court and retrieving copies of court papers.
- Reviewing and processing subpoenas, affidavits, notices, and court orders for attorney approval, and conducting simple legal research.
- Collecting, assembling, and reviewing routine data, opening and maintaining legal files, and generating legal documents while maintaining legal files and tracking logs.
- Preparing weekly and monthly statistical reports relating to individual and groups of cases in various stages of the litigation process.
Education and Experience Information:
Candidates must meet one of the following educational and experience criteria:
1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university.
2. An associate degree or completion of 60 semester credits from an accredited college and two years of full-time satisfactory paralegal experience in the United States.
3. A four-year high school diploma or its equivalent approved by a State’s Department of Education and four years of full-time satisfactory paralegal experience in the United States.
4. A satisfactory combination of education and/or experience equivalent to the above. Paralegal Certification from an accredited program or from a program approved by the American Bar Association can substitute for 12 months of experience. Undergraduate credit can substitute for experience on the basis of 30 semester credits from an accredited college for 12 months of experience. However, all candidates must have at least a four-year high school diploma or its equivalent.
To be eligible for placement in Assignment Level II duties and pay of Paralegal Aide, candidates must have one additional year of pertinent paralegal experience or a baccalaureate degree in addition to the requirements listed above.

- Highly organized and detail-oriented with good time management skills.
- Effective communication skills with attorneys and program staff.
- Ability to prioritize and complete work on an urgent basis within strict deadlines.
Salary Information:
The salary range for the position is $48, – $55,.
