Job Title: Paralegal (Oil & Gas Land Tech)

Job Responsibilities:
The Paralegal (Oil & Gas Land Tech) is tasked with supporting the Energy Regulated Industries Group with regulatory-focused land functions within a specified regional area. Key responsibilities include:
- Collaborating closely with attorneys and land brokers to create and ensure accuracy in application exhibits.
- Preparing affidavits, legal notices, application documents, and Excel reports to support application filings.
- Calculating Royalty and Working Interest percentages accurately using available land and contract data.
- Preparing and submitting check requests.
- Identifying opportunities to improve processes, enhance workflow efficiency, and strengthen client communication.
- Supporting application efforts by generating reports, maps, scanning documents, and maintaining data integrity.
- Acting as a liaison between regulatory agencies, company leadership, and external partners to streamline representation.
- Serving as a contact for resolving issues between clients, brokers, attorneys, and regulatory agencies promptly.
- Coordinating with internal teams such as Finance, Firm Management, Research Services, and Business Development to improve collaborative processes.
- Demonstrating leadership in prioritizing workloads, delegating tasks effectively, and maintaining structured accountability in meeting deadlines.
- Partnering with management and cross-functional teams to meet auditing objectives and ensure compliance with internal standards.

Education and Experience Information:
- A Bachelor’s degree is preferred, or equivalent work experience is acceptable.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience working as a Paralegal or Land Tech in-house at an oil and gas operator or at a land services company (broker) is required.
- Expert-level proficiency in the Microsoft Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, ShareFile, OneDrive) and Adobe Forms is essential.

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:
- Highly detail-oriented with strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage shifting priorities and multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills with regulatory agencies and internal teams.
- Ability to handle high-pressure deadlines with professionalism and composure.
- Proactive in identifying inefficiencies and implementing process improvements.
- Comfortable working remotely while maintaining structured accountability.
- Strong analytical skills, including expertise in calculating Royalty and Working Interest percentages.
- Ability to accurately interpret land exhibits, plats, and legal documents related to land title and application exhibits.
- Precise computation skills with rapid problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
- Strong background in oil, gas, and mineral leasing with the ability to review various title documents and agreements.

Other Requirements:
- Must be comfortable working Eastern Time hours with flexibility dictated by project deadlines.
- This is a remote position requiring independent work management and accountability.
- Ability to handle direct communication, large volumes of requests, and high-stakes deadlines effectively.
- Must demonstrate a strong commitment to compliance, accuracy, and operational efficiency.
