The County of Contra Costa is currently seeking a Deputy District Attorney II to join their dynamic team in the District Attorney's Office. The successful candidate will have at least one year of experience as a Deputy District Attorney I or equivalent in Contra Costa County or one year of experience as a prosecutor in a local, state, or federal organization. This is a permanent full-time position with a salary range of $131, - $145, annually.

Responsibilities:
- Interview and advise victims about criminal cases and court processes
- Conduct preliminary felony hearings, grand jury proceedings, and try felony and misdemeanor cases
- File and review criminal complaints, motions, and other legal documents
- Collaborate with defense attorneys and judges to discuss plea agreements
- Research and write legal points and authorities and present them in court
- Prepare pleadings, legal documents, and other case materials in connection with trials, hearings, and other legal proceedings

Minimum Qualifications:
- Possession of a valid California Motor Vehicle Operator's License
- Active membership in the State Bar of California
- One (1) year of full-time experience as a Deputy District Attorney I in Contra Costa County or prosecutor in a local, state, or federal organization

- Training and experience evaluation
- Human Resources Department may change examination steps in accordance with Personnel Management Regulations
Conviction History:
- After conditional job offer, fingerprinting and background check will be conducted
- Having a conviction history does not automatically preclude employment with Contra Costa County
Disaster Service Worker:
- All employees designated as Disaster Service Workers through state and local law
- Complete all related training and return to work in case of emergency
