Job Title: Experienced Litigation Legal Assistant/Paralegal
Job Responsibilities:
This full-time position is designed for an experienced litigation legal assistant/paralegal who will support attorneys in managing day-to-day litigation tasks. Key responsibilities include preparing various legal documents such as correspondence, pleadings, and discovery requests/responses, as well as motions. The role requires calendaring deadlines, scheduling client meetings, and tracking important dates. The candidate will also be responsible for maintaining and organizing legal files, preparing client invoices, and handling attorney expenses and reimbursement requests.
The candidate must exhibit excellent proofreading skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize projects with minimal supervision. The role demands a capacity for independent work and requires knowledge of electronic courthouse filing systems like PACER and Texas E-Filing. Proficiency in Adobe Acrobat Professional for tasks such as Bates labeling, redacting, editing, bookmarking, and combining documents is essential. The candidate should also be skilled in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
The ideal candidate must work well with others in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment and should be detail-oriented. There is an expectation to learn new software applications for billing (TimeSolv) and cloud-based document storage (NetDocs).
Education and Experience Information:
The position requires a minimum of 5 years of experience in a law firm or corporate legal department. While a bachelor's degree is preferred, it is not mandatory. A paralegal certificate is also preferred but not required.
Salary Information:
The salary for this position ranges from $60,000 to $70,000 yearly.
