Job Title: Senior Immigration Paralegal/Case Manager
Job Responsibilities:
- Manage paralegal and legal support staff to ensure efficient workflow and case management.
- Report metrics on overall case flow and develop strategies for the legal team.
- Prepare, review, and file petitions and applications for business and employment-based visas, including H-1B, L-1, O, P, R, E2, E1, and PERM labor certifications.
- Prepare, review, and file petitions and applications for family and humanitarian-based visas, such as AOS, I-130, Consular Process, Waivers I-601A & I 601, T, U, and VAWA.
- Draft and coordinate supporting documents, including letters, declarations, affidavits, and employer documentation.
- Obtain, review, and organize required paperwork from clients, such as foreign documents, educational credentials, and employment records.
- Translate documents or facilitate communication between clients and attorneys, especially when language barriers exist.
- Conduct legal and factual research related to visa categories, eligibility requirements, and changing immigration regulations.
- Draft declarations, affidavits, and personal statements for clients.
- Analyze clients’ circumstances to identify potential challenges or alternative visa options.
- Conduct legal research and draft memoranda, correspondence, and client updates.
- Gather, organize, and review evidence to support eligibility, such as proof of relationship, abuse, or hardship.
- Organize and maintain accurate digital files and records of all client and case-related information.
- Track client cases and ensure all documentation is gathered for submission.
- Maintain case calendars and ensure timely submission of applications, responses, and appeals.
- File petitions and applications electronically or via mail and monitor USCIS case statuses and follow up on pending applications.
- Maintain confidentiality of client information and legal matters.
- Provide excellent positive customer service to clients, ensuring their questions and concerns are addressed promptly and professionally to maintain a high level of client satisfaction.
- Stay updated on changes in immigration laws, policies, and procedures to provide informed guidance and recommendations to the legal team and clients.
- Conduct training for legal support staff on an as-needed basis.
Education and Experience Information:
- Bachelor's Degree or Paralegal Certificate required.
- 7-10 years of experience, with a focus on employment, family, and humanitarian immigration law.
- Strong knowledge of . immigration laws, procedures, regulations, and terminology.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish (required).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple cases, and work under pressure with tight deadlines.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and legal management software such as MyCase and Docketwise.
- Commitment to maintaining high ethical standards and confidentiality.
Salary Information:
- Compensation: $85,000 - $95,000 per year.
