Job Title: IP Biotechnology Patent Agent

Job Responsibilities:
- Patent Counseling: The candidate will be responsible for providing patent counseling services, which include the preparation and prosecution of patent applications. - Legal Research and Writing: The role requires strong legal research and writing skills. The candidate will need to conduct comprehensive legal research and produce well-written documents that effectively communicate complex legal and scientific concepts.
- Communication: The candidate must possess excellent written and oral communication skills to effectively interact with clients, colleagues, and other stakeholders. This includes explaining technical and legal information clearly and concisely.
- Collaboration: The candidate will work as part of the law firm's Intellectual Property Department's Chemical, Biotechnology, and Pharmaceutical Practice Group. This involves collaborating with other team members to provide high-quality legal services to clients.

Education and Experience Information:
- Educational Qualification: Candidates must hold a PhD in the biological sciences, such as Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, or Genetics, Chemistry, or a related field. This advanced degree is essential to understand the complex scientific concepts involved in biotechnology patent law.
- Experience: Candidates should have a minimum of 3 years of patent counseling experience, including experience in drafting and prosecuting patent applications. Experience in preparing patent opinions is preferred, particularly in biotechnology or similar technology sectors.
- Registration: Candidates must be registered to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). This registration is a legal requirement for practicing as a patent agent.

Salary Information:
- The expected salary range for this position is between $125,000 and $200,000. The actual pay will be determined based on the candidate’s education, experience, and internal pay equity within the law firm, as well as other job-related factors permitted by law.
