Job Title: Personal Injury Paralegal
Job Responsibilities:
The Personal Injury Paralegal at the law firm is responsible for a variety of tasks that support the Personal Injury team in Jersey City, New Jersey. The primary duties include providing administrative support to enhance the effectiveness of the law office. This involves communicating with clients, law offices, insurance adjusters, medical offices, and experts. The candidate will manage both Prelitigation and Litigation matters from start to finish, including opening and closing files involving medical records, police reports, and more. Daily interaction with existing clients is expected, as well as managing a caseload of up to 80. The paralegal will respond to incoming calls and voicemails daily, assist in preparing for depositions, mediations, arbitrations, and trials, and prepare and file complaints, motions, briefs, and arbitration statements. Additional responsibilities include preparing special packages, discovery demands, answers to interrogatories, reviewing discovery provided, and summarizing deposition testimony. The paralegal will assist the attorney with depositions calendaring, maintain court dates, compose e-mails and correspondence, monitor deadlines, and maintain the law office calendar. Other tasks include preparing the disbursement of settlement funds, requesting checks from the accounting department, meeting and greeting walk-in clients, conducting intakes as needed, answering inquiries from potential new clients, conducting research as needed, and maintaining case status notes in the case management system.
Education and Experience Information:
The successful candidate is required to have a High School Diploma, Paralegal Certificate, or equivalent. They must possess at least five years of working experience as a legal assistant or paralegal in the personal injury area of law. Familiarity with New Jersey e-courts and . court rules and legal procedures is essential. The candidate should have satisfactory knowledge of the day-to-day operations of a law office and be computer literate with proficiency in Microsoft Office and Outlook. Fluency in English and Spanish, both verbally and in writing, is required. Excellent administrative and organizational skills are necessary, along with the ability to juggle multiple activities and work under pressure. The candidate must be willing and able to work in a fast-paced office setting.
Salary Information:
The compensation for the Personal Injury Paralegal position ranges from $75,000 to $80,000 per year, depending on experience (DOE). The role is full-time, with an 8-hour shift schedule from Monday to Friday.

Work Location:
