Job Title: Professional Development Coordinator
Job Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Professional Development (PD) manager to coordinate the law firm's biannual evaluation and feedback processes, along with partnership elevation processes. This includes managing forms, deadlines, scheduling, tracking, and internal communications to ensure the smooth running of these processes.
- Act as a liaison with group leaders and managers to ensure timely and accurate submission of evaluations.
- Plan and coordinate in-person meetings that coincide with biannual evaluation and partnership elevation processes. This involves independently handling hotel, restaurant, and catering bookings and logistics.
- Independently track and maintain integration and development milestones for legal staff, which includes monitoring onboarding check-ins, development conversations, and promotion readiness.
- Maintain accurate records of practice group assignments, group leader and mentor assignments, and role changes, ensuring that all information is up-to-date and readily accessible.
- Oversee and maintain resources related to professional development initiatives, including maintaining FishNet pages, development roadmaps, and orientation tools.
- Coordinate mentoring assignments and support the administration of the mentoring program, monitoring participation, and making recommendations to improve the mentoring experience.
- Assist with the preparation of high-quality communications related to promotions, mentoring, evaluations, and onboarding.
- Draft announcements and updates regarding evaluation cycles, professional development policies, and career development initiatives.
- Collaborate with business services teams to support firmwide professional development programs and events, ensuring alignment with the firm’s strategic objectives.
- Compile data and reports related to performance trends, utilization, and staffing patterns to support strategic decision-making.
- Support the planning and logistics for PD-related programs such as retreats, trainings, or milestone check-ins.
- Occasionally assist with Continuing Legal Education (CLE) coordination for cross-functional or client-facing professional development initiatives.
Education and Experience Information:
- A is required for this position.
- A minimum of five years of experience in administering training or professional development programs is required, preferably in a law firm or professional services environment.
- Experience with the Microsoft Office suite is required, indicating proficiency in tools necessary for managing tasks and communications.
- Candidates must demonstrate the ability to provide quality client service to both internal and external contacts regarding routine and complex matters, and to develop and maintain effective business relationships with people from diverse backgrounds.
- The role requires tact, patience, and the ability to maintain confidentiality in all professional interactions.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing, is necessary, including making presentations to small and large groups in an effective manner.
- Ability to independently obtain, track, and maintain a high level of detailed information accurately and completely is required.
- Candidates should demonstrate the ability to independently organize and prioritize multiple projects in a dynamic and complex environment, meeting deadlines and successfully managing the daily workload.
- The ability to work effectively with others in a cooperative manner to accomplish work and participate in team efforts is essential.
- The role requires flexibility and adaptability to current and future responsibilities and circumstances.
- This is a hybrid role requiring the ability to work in the office a minimum of one day per week or more as requested.

- The salary range for this position varies by geographic market and final compensation will be based on a variety of factors including education, experience, skills, professional background, overall qualifications, and location.
- In Chicago, the estimated starting pay is per hour based on a workweek.
