Job Title: Litigation Paralegal (Construction Defect)
Job Responsibilities:
- Assist attorneys with the preparation and response to discovery processes, including interrogatories, requests for admissions, requests for production, subpoenas, and preparing deposition binders.
- Prepare motions with supporting documents and exhibits, and prepare hearing binders.
- Manage trial preparation, including coordinating witnesses and travel, organizing trial exhibits, charts, trial notebooks, subpoenas, and page lines.
- Review, analyze, and organize document production by opposing parties.
- Independently obtain, review, and organize medical records and billings; calculate damages including medical expenses, lost wages, and property damage.
- Collaborate as part of a team with varying levels of experience.
- Communicate routinely with clients, experts, and attorneys regarding case status and preparation.
Education and Experience Information:
- Paralegal certification required.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a litigation paralegal.
- Experience in the state of California is highly encouraged.
- Solid understanding of civil litigation, including state and federal deadlines and rules.
- High proficiency in Microsoft Suite (specifically Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook) and Adobe Acrobat.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines.
- Professional appearance and demeanor.
- Excellent listening, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Ability to think and act independently.
Salary Information:
- Pay range: - $44 USD per hour.
