Senior Paralegal - Litigation
Job Responsibilities:
The Senior Paralegal in the litigation department is an integral member of the litigation case team, tasked with general case maintenance and support. This role involves direct collaboration with attorneys, clerks, and other support departments within the law firm. The paralegal is responsible for overseeing case projects and requires high motivation, conscientiousness, and exceptional organizational and communication skills. Duties include:
- Utilizing timekeeping and expense reporting applications.
- Conducting online research using platforms such as LexisNexis, Westlaw, PACER, and CM/ECF.
- Preparing motion papers, court filings, and correspondence, and liaising between various litigation support departments.
- Organizing, reviewing, and maintaining documents and case files, as well as compiling documents for ECF filings.
- Conducting electronic document reviews and searches of production databases for documents.
- Applying Bates and confidentiality stamping in Adobe Acrobat when producing documents outside of an electronic database.
- Delivering electronic media and corresponding cover letters, and tracking the delivery of production materials.
- Assisting attorneys with the preparation of materials such as assembling exhibits and relevant documents for depositions, trials, and arbitrations.
- Reserving conference rooms and in-house services, and arranging for court reporter and videographer services for on-site depositions.
- Organizing and maintaining an electronic record of deposition transcripts, videos, and a hard copy record of original and certified transcripts.
- Reviewing transcripts and videos for errata.
- Possessing knowledge of cite-checking and Bluebook standards.
- Drafting Tables of Authorities (TOA) and Tables of Contents (TOC).
- Assisting with additional case-related projects as needed.
- Being available for overtime and travel as required.
Education and Experience:
- A Bachelor’s Degree is required.
- A Paralegal Certificate from an ABA-approved paralegal program is preferred.
- A minimum of 3 years of litigation experience in state and federal trial courts is required.
- Strong knowledge of MS Office, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, as well as other office tools such as document review software and document management systems, is essential.
Salary Information:
The expected base salary for this position ranges from $80,000 to $90,000. Salary offers are based on a variety of factors, including relevant skills, training, experience, education, anticipated assignment, and, where applicable, licensure or certifications obtained. Additionally, market and organizational factors are considered. The law firm offers a competitive salary and a comprehensive benefits package.
