Nurse Paralegal - Job Summary and Responsibilities
- Support attorneys with busy defense litigation practice, specifically in the area of medical negligence.
- Request, analyze, and summarize medical records for clients, attorneys, and experts.
- Conduct medical journal research and provide information on medical experts and physicians.
- Prepare case analysis and identify issues, omissions, and discrepancies in medical records.
- Assist with medical evidence preparation and organization for hearings or trial.
- Compose and type document production, including case analysis memoranda, summaries of medical records, and correspondence.
- Conduct preliminary legal research as needed.
Requirements for Nurse Paralegal
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing required, Paralegal Certification preferred.
- Minimum of 6 years as a registered nurse, with 2 years of experience in a law firm preferred.
- Proficient in medical terminology and understanding of medical conditions.
- Knowledge of HIPPA compliance and other regulatory mandates.
- Strong research, analytical, organizational, and critical thinking skills.
- Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Power Point, and legal research tools.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
