Job Title: Real Estate and Corporate Transactions Paralegal

Job Responsibilities:
The Real Estate and Corporate Transactions Paralegal at the law firm is responsible for assisting attorneys in delivering transactional legal services to clients with sophisticated real estate transactional needs. The role primarily involves working on renewable energy projects, purchases and sales, leasing, and financing transactions. The paralegal may also work directly with clients under the direction of an attorney. Key responsibilities include:

- Technical Information & Research:
- Extensive knowledge of real estate transactions, including reviewing title reports, commitments, exceptions to title, title insurance policies and endorsements, plats, and surveys.
- Ordering and reviewing title reports or commitments, analyzing vesting, legal descriptions, and exceptions to title to determine their impact on the subject property, and identifying and executing curative solutions.
- Reviewing and preparing general correspondence, deeds, basic loan documents, easements, escrow instructions, and settlement statements.
- Assisting with recording documents with county recorders in various states.

- Basic Knowledge of Business Entities:
- Understanding partnerships, LLCs, and corporations in one or more of the states where the law firm practices.
- Reviewing and ordering good standings, certified organizational documents, litigation, and UCC searches and recorded documents.
- Filing related certificates, filing partnership, LLC, and corporate documents, obtaining federal and state tax IDs, and clearances.
- Working with government agencies, docketing important dates, maintaining files, organizing closing documents, managing transactions, and coordinating real estate and finance closings.

- Client Services:
- Assisting attorneys in developing and maintaining positive relationships with clients, title insurance companies, closing agents, government agencies, opposing parties and counsel, and other outside vendors.

- Administrative Duties:
- Entering billable time on a daily basis.
- Performing other duties as assigned.

Essential Capabilities:
The paralegal must possess several capabilities, including:

- Ability to work with attorneys and assist with projects and relationships.
- Ability to analyze and solve problems within a team and present solutions to attorneys.
- Good common sense and the ability to consistently produce detailed and accurate work.
- Technical knowledge in the area of practice, statutes, and regulations.
- Desire to learn and improve, a positive attitude toward clients, co-workers, and transaction participants, and strong client service orientation.
- Enjoyment of working in teams and collaborating, adaptability, and the ability to assist attorneys in managing multiple projects simultaneously.

Technical Knowledge:
- Proficiency in word processing and spreadsheet software in a Windows-based environment.
- Skills with mapping software are a plus.

Education and Experience:
- A high school degree or equivalent is required; a college degree is preferred.
- A Paralegal Certificate is a definite plus.
- Must have at least 3-5 years of relevant experience.

Salary Information:
- The pay range for this position is $55,000 - $106,000. However, the base compensation presented to a candidate may vary based on skills and overall experience. This salary range is based on market location.
