Job Responsibilities
The role of the 1940 Act Attorney at the company involves a variety of legal and regulatory tasks aimed at supporting fund clients. Key responsibilities include:
- Drafting, reviewing, and preparing fund registration statements to be filed with the . Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), including new fund registrations and annual updates.
- Drafting, reviewing, and preparing supplements, exchange listing applications, exemptive relief applications, proxy statements, and related filings to be submitted to the SEC.
- Communicating with the SEC and other regulatory agencies and self-regulatory organizations, such as the New York Stock Exchange, on behalf of fund clients.
- Preparing agendas, resolutions, agreements, policies, procedures, and other materials for investment company board meetings, and preparing related minutes.
- Serving as a resource on regulations and industry developments for fund clients in support of legal counsel.
- Acting as a resource for internal related business lines concerning matters of regulation of investment companies and industry developments.
- Managing multiple tasks simultaneously in a deadline-driven environment, as well as leading department and organizational special projects.
- Managing the shared resources of the department and planning effective strategies to complete deliverables and projects simultaneously.
- Coordinating and aligning the efforts of stakeholders from various parts of the organization in cross-functional initiatives to ensure effective collaboration and timely completion of projects.
- Leading and managing teams and complex projects with precision.

Education and Experience Information
- A law degree is required for this position.
- The candidate must be licensed to practice in the applicable jurisdiction.
- Eight or more years of related experience is required.
- An advanced understanding of investment company regulations is preferred.
- Experience managing people is preferred.

Salary Information
The salary range for this position reflects figures based on the primary location. The actual range for the role may differ based on the location of the role. The pay range is $139, - $163, - $180,. Additionally, the company offers a comprehensive benefits package, including incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase, 401(k) contribution, and pension, subject to eligibility requirements.
