The Director of Information Security is a key position within the firm, reporting directly to the Chief Information Officer (CIO). The main responsibility of this role is to ensure the security of sensitive information and data within the firm, through policy assessments, compliance enforcement, vendor management, and incident management. The Director of Information Security will work closely with various departments within the firm, including Information Technology, Customer Experience, and Research, to develop and enforce security policies and procedures across all enterprise systems, whether on premise or in the cloud.
To be successful in this role, the Director of Information Security must have a strong understanding of Windows system administration, Active Directory, network security principles, and industry standards. They must also have expertise in cloud controls and environments, as well as practical knowledge of IT solutions deployment, compliance, risk management, and information security principles. Knowledge of various security tools and concepts is also essential, such as IDS/IPS, SIEM, web proxy, encryption, and vulnerability scanning. The individual must also possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, be self-motivated, and able to manage multiple deliverables and deadlines in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment.
The ideal candidate for this role will have at least 4 years of experience in an Information Security management role, as well as a CISSP certification. Project management experience is preferred, and previous experience in a law firm is highly desired. The individual must also have a client-service orientation, be a proactive problem solver, possess strong communication skills, have a strong work ethic, and be a team player with good leadership and interpersonal skills.
The work environment for this role is currently under a “Work From Anywhere” program due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. This allows employees to choose whether they work entirely from home, in the office, or a hybrid of both. While in the office, employees are expected to follow local mandates and CDC guidelines to maintain a safe working environment for everyone.
