Business Development Coordinator

Job Responsibilities:
The Business Development Coordinator (BD Coordinator) at the law firm is an integral member of the Business team, with a primary focus on supporting the Transactions Practices and their Business Plans. The responsibilities include:

- Implementing practice and industry team business plans in collaboration with group leadership and the Marketing and Business Development Team to execute strategic initiatives.
- Providing group leadership with quarterly budget and business plan updates.
- Supporting reporting on marketing and business development initiatives and client opportunities during practice and industry group meetings.
- Monitoring practice and industry trends, analyzing ROI on initiatives, and offering suggestions and adjustments to go-to-market strategies.
- Acting as a secondary point of contact for the Transactions Practices, working directly with the Senior Business Development Manager to address internal marketing and business development requests, including coordinating pitches, RFP responses, and presentations.
- Maintaining assigned practice and industry team marketing collateral, experience summaries, and website content, in conjunction with the Business Development Manager and the Proposal Team.
- Collaborating with attorneys, the Events Team, and the BD Operations Team to develop client seminars, webinars, programs, and other activities, and driving follow-up efforts to achieve positive results and calculate ROI.
- Coordinating the annual Chambers & Partners submission process, assisting in developing best practices for submissions, completing submissions for assigned practices, tracking submissions, and making strategic recommendations regarding rankings to pursue.
- Arranging research projects with the Information & Research Services Department on clients, prospects, and industries in preparation for client meetings and RFPs, and targeting new business opportunities.
- Coordinating the Marketing and Business Development portion of new attorney orientation for assigned practices, meeting with new attorneys to discuss the department, its services, and organization.
- Tracking relevant industry organizations to uncover business development opportunities, including developing speaking and authorship opportunities with professional and trade organizations.
- Coordinating with the Senior Business Development Manager, Director of Business Development, and Chief Growth Officer in managing special projects.
- Providing general support to the Business Development Team on an as-needed basis.

Education and Experience Information:
- Bachelor’s Degree is required.
- A minimum of 4 years of marketing experience is necessary.
- Experience in the legal industry or professional service industry is highly preferred.
- The candidate should possess strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities while consistently delivering high-quality results.
- The role requires a strong attention to detail and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment.
- Excellent oral communication and writing skills are essential.
- A professional client service manner, responsiveness, flexibility, and adaptability are required.
- The candidate should demonstrate a “Client first” mentality.
- Superior Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) are necessary.
- The ability to take initiative to solve problems with creative solutions is important.

Salary Information:
For Illinois applicants (as required by the Illinois Equal Pay Act): The annual compensation range for this position in the Chicago office is between $53,000 and $65,000. Compensation is determined based on qualifications and experience. This position is considered full-time and is eligible to participate in employer-sponsored benefits, including medical, dental, vision, as well as elective/voluntary life, disability, and accident coverage. All full-time employees are eligible to participate in the firm's 401k plan.

For Colorado applicants (as required by the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act): The annual compensation range for this position in the Denver office is between $53,000 and $65,000. Compensation is determined based on qualifications and experience. This position is considered full-time and is eligible to participate in employer-sponsored benefits, including medical, dental, vision, as well as elective/voluntary life, disability, and accident coverage. All full-time employees are eligible to participate in the firm's 401k plan.
