Latham & Watkins, a top global law firm, is seeking a highly qualified associate with at least three years of experience in complex real estate transactions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in joint ventures, development projects, acquisitions, dispositions, real estate M&A, and financings. This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic Real Estate Practice that represents a diverse group of clients across the United States and internationally, including in the hospitality and healthcare sectors.
The Real Estate Practice at Latham & Watkins is a global group with a broad practice, working with clients such as private equity and investment funds, public and private real estate operating companies, development partners, S&P 500 REITs, financial institutions, and other institutional investors. Associates in this role have the opportunity to work with attorneys both locally and across the firm, regardless of their assigned office.
The successful candidate will possess strong drafting, analytical, and organizational skills and will have a thorough understanding and appreciation of the business of real estate investing.
Qualifications
- Minimum of three years of experience in complex real estate transactions
- Strong background in joint ventures, development projects, acquisitions, dispositions, real estate M&A, and financings
- Knowledge and understanding of the business of real estate investing
- Excellent drafting, analytical, and organizational skills
- Ability to work with attorneys both locally and across the firm
Responsibilities
- Handle complex real estate transactions for a diverse group of clients
- Work closely with clients to understand their needs and provide strategic legal advice
- Collaborate with a global team of attorneys to deliver high-quality legal services
- Draft and review legal documents
- Conduct legal research and provide analysis
- Participate in client meetings and negotiations
