Job Title: Legal Account Resolution Specialist - Legal Collector
Job Responsibilities:
- Conduct outbound and inbound calls to notify and/or locate consumers with delinquent accounts and attempt to secure payments.
- Manage files throughout the legal process as all consumers are in the post-judgment, legal stage of collections.
- Request form letters to encourage payment of delinquent accounts.
- Communicate with consumers or their representatives by telephone to determine reasons for overdue payments and negotiate payment resolutions, which may require supervisor or client approval.
- Calculate payment arrangements and negotiate settlements.
- Document information about the financial status of consumers and the status of collection efforts; perform data entry to update account notes.
- Contact consumers, their representatives, attorneys, and occasionally courts to provide status updates and request or supply additional information and documentation.
- Obtain information to handle debit and check payments by phone.
- Utilize internet, public records, city and telephone directories, credit bureau reports, vendor searches, and contact employers and post offices to locate consumers and/or their assets.
- Decide on the next activity for consumer files and monitor files for expected outcomes.
- Follow up to ensure all available options are utilized to achieve debt payment.
- Meet minimum standards for daily calls, files worked, and goals.
- Handle files in accordance with company and client standards, follow scripts, and ensure regulatory compliance.
- Approach contact with consumers and third parties with professionalism and customer service on a recorded and monitored phone line.
- Complete all required training applicable to the assigned position.
- Perform additional duties as requested or required.
Education and Experience Information:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
- 1-3 years of relevant customer-facing experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Knowledge of basic computer operations, including internet research.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Must pass a background check and drug screening; THC/Marijuana not tested due to changes in Ohio law.
Salary Information:
- Compensation is per hour, plus uncapped monthly bonus opportunities, with an average annual bonus of $10,000.
- Additional compensation may be available for employees proficient in Spanish.
- Potential for a hybrid schedule after 6 months of employment.
