About the Job:
**MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***. is seeking a highly motivated individual to join our Bond & Specialty Insurance (BSI) Claim Counsel team as an EPL & D&O Liability Associate Claim Counsel. This role will be responsible for conducting thorough investigations, analysis, and evaluation of claims and claim litigation for our Private/Non-Profit Team. The ideal candidate will have 1-5 years of relevant legal or claim handling experience and a Juris Doctorate Degree.
Salary Information:
- Annual base salary range of $87, - $144, nationwide
- Actual salary will be determined based on factors such as location, experience, and skills
- Eligible for performance-based cash incentive awards
Job Responsibilities:
- Analyze, investigate, and resolve BSI claims with supervision from claims management
- Prepare and present reports on loss development, financial exposure, and claim strategies
- Retain, monitor, and manage outside counsel
- Communicate with underwriting on significant claim exposures
- Travel to attend mediations, conferences, and trials
- Identify recovery opportunities and coordinate efforts with Recovery Management Unit
- Refine coverage analysis skills and draft coverage opinions
- Negotiate settlements and review agreements
- Support underwriting marketing efforts
- Monitor marketplace conditions and draft reference materials to inform colleagues
- Obtain and maintain required adjusters' licenses
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- 1-5 years of relevant legal or claim handling experience
- Ability to work through conflict and resolve issues professionally
- Strong decision-making and negotiation skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Time management skills with attention to detail and data
- Ability to build and maintain relationships with colleagues, customers, and business partners
- Bachelor's Degree and Juris Doctorate Degree
- Properly licensed to practice law in the jurisdiction of work location
