Job Title: Insurance Defense Attorney (REMOTE)

Job Responsibilities:
As an insurance defense attorney, the individual will be part of a team providing legal representation to the insured clients of the company in California. The attorney will handle cases from the inception of a lawsuit until its conclusion, whether through dismissal, settlement, or trial. This includes managing cases involving automobile negligence and general liability matters. Key responsibilities include:
- Handling a moderate caseload with varying degrees of complexity in automobile negligence and general liability matters.
- Collaborating with claims professionals to resolve cases cost-effectively.
- Developing theories and defenses for incoming lawsuits.
- Engaging in routine motion practice, discovery, and legal research.
- Handling trials and arbitrations.
- Periodically presenting to claims partners on new developments in the law.

Education and Experience Information:
- Minimum of 7 years of litigation experience is required, with trial experience being advantageous.
- Experience in professional liability, employment liability, or complex cases is considered a plus.
- The candidate must have a valid driver's license and an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).
- The candidate must be admitted to the bar and licensed to practice law in the jurisdictions where they are assigned.

- Organization Skills: Ability to categorize and prioritize work to maximize productivity.

- Teamwork: Ability to work in a team environment with other attorneys, adjusters, and support staff.
- Investigative Skills: Ability to follow up on inquiries or observations with accuracy.
- Legal Research: Ability to locate cases and interpret laws to draw reasonable conclusions.
- Courtroom Skills: Familiarity with courtroom behavior, attire, and the rules and regulations governing legal proceedings.

Physical Demands & Work Environment:
- Ability to use a personal computer and standard office equipment.
- Ability to operate a motor vehicle and travel as necessary.
- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods.
- Expectation of 25-30% travel within the state for court appearances, depositions, and mediations.

Salary Information:
