Position Summary:

Reed Smith's Entertainment and Media Industry Group has a market-leading music practice, working with top clients in the industry. To support the team's continued growth and success, the firm is seeking a Senior Business Development Coordinator to expand their client base and cultivate strong relationships in the US music sector, specifically in Los Angeles and New York. This strategic role will be based in the Century City office and will focus on increasing revenue and elevating the firm's profile in the music industry.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Marketing and Business Development:

- Work closely with group leaders and attorneys to execute strategic priorities and develop strong relationships with clients.
- Craft and execute a comprehensive business development strategy for the US music industry.
- Identify and cultivate long-term partnerships with potential clients, utilizing the firm's global resources.
- Analyze market trends and client needs to propose innovative solutions that align with the firm's growth objectives.
- Identify opportunities for Reed Smith's music team and proactively seek ways to cross-sell services within the firm.
- Coordinate pitch materials and responses to Requests for Proposals, including drafting and editing content.
- Design and implement thought leadership and content plans, such as blogs, social media, webinars, and podcasts.
- Prepare submissions for awards and legal directories to increase the firm's visibility in the music industry.
- Collaborate with the PR team to identify and pursue PR opportunities for the music group.

Enhanced Client Relationship Building:

- Implement a client engagement strategy to strengthen relationships and use client feedback to refine services.
- Develop strategies for client retention and cross-selling services.
- Coordinate contributions and input related to attorney experience and client information into business development systems.

Sponsorship and Event Facilitation:

- Identify and secure music-led sponsorship opportunities.
- Develop targeted outreach initiatives and plan, coordinate, and execute client-facing events.
- Use events to showcase the firm's capabilities and global reach.
- Track ROI from events and client outreach.

Cross-Group Collaboration:

- Work with partners across various practice groups to ensure a cohesive approach to client development and service delivery.
- Share market intelligence and client feedback to inform strategic planning and service improvement efforts.
- Utilize the experience of other Industry Groups to grow revenue and differentiate the firm from competitors.

Market Analysis, Client Segmentation, and Performance Measurement:

- Conduct in-depth analysis of market segments and develop targeted strategies for client acquisition and engagement.
- Segment the client base and develop tailored strategies for different client groups.
- Monitor and report on the effectiveness of business development activities.

Requirements:

- College degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or related field required.
- 3-5 years' experience in a marketing-related field, including 1 year of business development experience and demonstrated project leadership.
- Law firm or professional services experience preferred.
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite software.
- Detail-oriented, proactive, and self-directed with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities under tight deadlines.
- Comfortable building relationships with individuals at all levels.
- Strong organizational, project management, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent understanding of the music sector and its unique business landscape.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
