Job Title: Family Law Paralegal
Job Responsibilities:
- Assist attorneys in the acceptance, organization, investigation, and resolution of family law matters.
- Draft court documents, including complaints, answers, motions, correspondence, and memos.
- Prepare interrogatories and other discovery documents, as well as complex pleadings.
- Confer with all parties involved in legal proceedings.
- Manage docketing and maintain schedules.
- Keep and maintain organized legal files.
- Monitor the progress of cases and follow up to ensure all required actions are completed.
- Collaborate with team members while being able to work independently.
- Provide excellent client communication and service.
Education and Experience Information:
- A minimum of two years' experience in litigation and/or family law as a paralegal is strongly preferred.
- A degree in Paralegal Technology or Business is preferred, though experience may substitute for education.
- Must either have a North Carolina Notary Public commission or have the ability to obtain one.
- Proficiency in technology, including MS Office Suite, PDF, and general online research, is required.
- A good understanding of the litigation and discovery process is necessary.
- Federal Court experience is a plus.
Salary Information:
- A generous sign-on bonus of up to $5,000 is offered to direct hires for this position.
