The Law Firm of Shumaker is seeking a skilled and experienced litigation paralegal to join our team. This is a full-time, on-site position located in Sarasota, FL. We are looking for someone who is highly organized and has the ability to handle multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will have prior experience as a litigation paralegal, including pre-trial and trial experience. Responsibilities:

- Draft and prepare pleadings for filing
- E-file pleadings in both state and federal court
- Attend telephone conferences and prepare synopsis memoranda
- Maintain pleadings and discovery indexes
- Draft documents and organize exhibits, documents, briefs, and appendices
- Assist attorneys with interrogatories and other discovery requests
- Gather relevant information from a variety of sources and redact information from documents
- Aid in trial preparation by preparing binders, indexing discovery, and preparing trial exhibits
- Prepare witness preparation binders

Requirements:

- Proven working experience as a litigation paralegal, including pre-trial and trial experience
- Applicable knowledge of motions, discovery, evidence, litigation documentation, etc.
- Highly organized with the ability to handle multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Strong writing and communication skills, with attention to detail
- Extensive computer and database expertise, including MS Excel and Word skills
- Florida Registered Paralegal or similar certification preferred but not required
