Position Description:

The West Coast Regional Litigation Docketing team is a group of experienced legal professionals who specialize in calendaring management. They are seeking a candidate to join their team in the role of Litigation Docketing Specialist. This position requires a strong understanding of litigation processes, court rules, and procedures, as well as experience computing deadlines for state, federal, and appellate courts. The candidate must also possess excellent critical thinking skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently.

Responsibilities:

- Review emails and determine docketing needs for assigned public folders
- Communicate with case teams to gather necessary information for case set-ups and management
- Perform limited research to verify deadlines
- Respond to inquiries from litigation teams regarding docketed events, deadlines, and rules
- Maintain and improve processes and procedures for accurate calendar/docket entry
- Promote firm's docketing policies and procedures to litigation teams

Skills and Competencies:

- Substantial experience computing deadlines for state, federal, and appellate courts
- Strong knowledge of litigation processes, court rules, and procedures
- Excellent critical thinking skills and attention to detail
- Familiarity with court websites and docket searching databases
- Ability to work well in a team and collaborate with all levels of the organization
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently
- Ability to work under pressure and prioritize tasks effectively
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn new software quickly

Qualifications and Experience:

- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience preferred
- Minimum 7 years of current California Litigation experience on case teams and 7 years of current Federal Litigation experience
- Prior experience with rules-based calendar systems required
- Prior litigation paralegal or legal secretary experience preferred
- Prior work experience in large firms preferred
- Computer proficiency in Windows-based software and Microsoft Office Suite applications

Salary Information:

The expected pay range for this position is - per hour, with the actual pay being adjusted based on experience, location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. Full-time employees may also be eligible for a discretionary bonus and various benefits, such as health insurance, 401K, and paid time off.
