Patent Paralegal Duties: Maintain assigned client portfolios, including all filings and correspondence for US, PCT and foreign prosecution. Responsible for preparation and filing of PCT, National Phase, . Provisional, and Paris Convention filings along with all formality documents required from various jurisdictions. Responsible for preparing and filing responses to any PCT invitations, as well as the filing of all prosecution documents with the USPTO. Responsible for preparing non-substantive prosecution documents (pre-exam responses, Request to Correct Inventorship, etc.) for filing with the USPTO. Communicate directly with clients regarding routine or procedural patent prosecution events. Responsible for providing cost estimates for translations, EP validations, and national phase filings. Maintain the integrity of electronic data relating to clients intellectual property in accordance with firm policy and procedures. Management of all client (foreign and US) filing deadlines and proactive attention to one's docket. Responsible for sending dockets reminders to attorneys, patent agents, and technical specialists. Be able to work both independently and as part of a team to best meet the client's needs. Handle other duties as assigned.
Qualifications: A Bachelor's degree. Paralegal certificate desired. Strong knowledge of all phases of the . and Foreign patent process. Proficient in Private PAIR, EFS-Web, and Patent Center. Directly relevant past experience in an IP practice or equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Successful employee will demonstrate sound technology skills, problem-solving skills, prioritization skills, customer service ethic, listening skills, written and verbal communication skills, ability to effectively interact successfully with all levels within the Firm, and ability to handle multiple, competing, and changing priorities.
