Job Title: Business Development Coordinator
Job Responsibilities:
The Business Development Coordinator at the law firm plays a crucial role within the Marketing and Business Development department. The coordinator is primarily responsible for supporting the Business Development Manager across multiple business units, including Entertainment, Consumer Protection and Advertising, Government, and M&A, as well as other units as needed. Key responsibilities include:
- Fulfilling requests for business development materials such as bios, practice descriptions, brochures, pitch books, and presentations, and responding to inquiries related to business development.
- Assisting in the creation of client proposals and RFP responses, which involves organizing business development materials, writing and editing copy, proofreading, and managing production, distribution, and professional follow-up.
- Supporting the ongoing maintenance of the firm’s experience database by collecting information from professionals and drafting descriptions of significant engagements, transactions, and cases.
- Compiling research on strategic key clients, industries, and competitors to support business development initiatives.
- Conducting market research on conferences and helping identify and secure speaking engagements for attorneys and consultants.
- Tracking proposals and business development opportunities, providing regular reporting, and following up with lawyers to track wins, losses, and ROI.
- Owning the process of producing recurring newsletters.
- Coordinating the production of webinar presentations and client alerts.
- Collaborating closely with other team members, including those within events, communications, and marketing technology, to fulfill requests.
Education and Experience Information:
The minimum qualifications required for the Business Development Coordinator position include:
- A Bachelor’s degree.
- Two to three years of experience in legal services.
- Superior client service skills with a demonstrated willingness to go above and beyond to deliver exceptional service.
- Exceptional written, editorial, proofreading, and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present information persuasively.
- Excellent project management and organizational skills with the ability to consistently meet deadlines in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- Outstanding research, analytical, and critical thinking skills, with the ability to identify problems, provide analysis, and recommend solutions.
- Strong attention to detail, a proactive approach, and self-direction with the ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.
- Flexibility to adjust work schedules according to workload demands or planned events, including occasional off-site events.
- Strong computer skills, including web-based research, MS Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
Preferred qualifications include:
- Experience using Salesforce or another CRM database.
- Familiarity with Chambers rankings and research processes.
Salary Information:
The base annual pay range for the Business Development Coordinator role at the law firm is between $60,000-$70,000. The base pay offered will vary depending on skills, qualifications, and experience, and will also take into account internal equity. A full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits dependent on the position will also be offered.
