Job Title: Editorial Director, Content Development
Job Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute a content strategy that aligns with Product Management and department goals and objectives.
- Lead a team of legal writers and editors to create high-quality, cutting-edge content across more than 20 practice areas.
- Collaborate with the team to develop thought leadership pieces, such as white papers, showcasing the company's industry-leading domain expertise.
- Work with colleagues and the Marketing department to establish a process for increasing the volume of social media posts and promotional activities by writers and editors.
- Integrate GenAI tooling into new writing processes to enhance productivity, scalability, and flexibility.
- Collaborate with Product Management to transform traditional products into more timely and discrete treatments of legal developments to meet evolving customer demands.
- Stay informed about emerging industry trends and developments, and plan content upgrades accordingly.
- Implement online-centric writing, editing, and quality standards in alignment with Product Architecture, playing a key role in setting these standards.
- Monitor and analyze content performance to make data-driven decisions and improve content strategies.
- Manage and allocate resources efficiently to ensure staff focuses on high-value work, identifying opportunities to outsource or offshore lower value-add work.
- Ensure all content complies with legal regulations and ethical standards.
- Implement best practices and KPIs for performance management.
- Maintain a positive and collaborative team environment that fosters creativity and innovation.
Education and Experience Information:
- Bachelor of Arts degree required; JD or equivalent is strongly preferred.
- A minimum of 10 years of editorial experience, with knowledge of the US legal publishing industry, is required.
- At least 8 years of experience managing editorial teams.
- Deep understanding of editorial and content creation processes within publishing.
- Knowledge and experience working with GenAI and new editorial tooling and technology.

Travel Requirements:
- 20% travel required.

Salary Information:
Compensation for this role falls within the target salary range of $161,600 to $228,750 for locations such as CA, CT, CO, DC, HI, IL, MD, MN, NY, RI, and WA.
