1st Party Property Damage - Paralegal
Job Responsibilities:
Litigation Paralegals at the law firm work directly with attorneys to assist with ongoing cases and prepare for trials if necessary. They are responsible for conducting fact-finding projects and maintaining all case files. Essential job functions include:
- Performing secretarial, clerical, and data entry duties
- Preparing correspondence on their own initiative for attorney approval and drafting legal documents as required
- Managing documents using Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and Adobe
- Drafting legal court documents, such as pleadings, motions, affidavits, and subpoenas
- Communicating with clients
- Performing other related duties as assigned
Education and Experience Information:
- Full-time position with working hours from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday
- 1+ years of paralegal experience required
- Bi-lingual proficiency in English and Spanish
- Experience in first-party property or general litigation
- Familiarity with case management software
- Experience with e-filing in both state and federal courts
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to manage a heavy workload in a fast-paced environment
- Effective and efficient communication skills with clients and co-workers
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize workload
- Team-oriented mindset
