Job Title: Senior Trademark Paralegal
Job Responsibilities:
The Senior Trademark Paralegal will play a crucial role in the Trademark Portfolio Services department of the Intellectual Property Practice Group at the law firm. The primary responsibilities include:
- Preparing applications for trademark and service mark registration.
- Preparing ancillary prosecution and maintenance filings.
- Preparing filings for the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board and trademark record title updates.
- Assisting with trademark and copyright due diligence processes.
- Performing online preliminary trademark clearance searches and preparing search guides.
- Preparing applications for copyright registrations.
- Drafting correspondence to clients and local counsel related to trademark prosecution and maintenance issues.
- Keeping attorneys informed of upcoming deadlines and coordinating with them to keep clients updated on the same.
- Performing additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned.
Education and Experience Information:
- A bachelor's degree is required.
- A minimum of two to three (2-3) years of experience in trademark prosecution/maintenance within a law firm or corporate legal department is necessary.
- A paralegal certificate is strongly preferred.
- The candidate must have excellent organizational skills with a high degree of attention to detail.
- Advanced knowledge of legal research and investigation skills is essential.
- Proven ability to follow instructions and established procedures.
- Ability to prioritize workload, assignments, and client needs effectively.
- Capacity to adapt to change and balance competing demands while functioning as an integral part of a fast-paced team environment.
Salary Information:
The salary range for this position varies depending on the location:
- New York, NY; Silicon Valley, CA; San Francisco, CA: $91,500 - $146,325.
- Orange County, CA; Seattle, WA: $87,800 - $140,450.
- Chicago, IL: $80,500 - $128,800.
- Washington .: $84,200 - $134,600.
The base salary will be determined during the interview process and will vary based on factors such as prior experience, relevant expertise, current business needs, and market factors. The final salary offered may be outside of these ranges based on individual circumstances. Additionally, salary wages may be only part of the total compensation package, which includes eligibility for an annual discretionary bonus.
