Job Title: Network Engineering Manager

Job Responsibilities:
The Network Engineering Manager at the law firm is responsible for leading and overseeing the design, implementation, and maintenance of the firm's network infrastructure. This role includes managing a technical team to support and troubleshoot complex network infrastructure. Key responsibilities encompass:

- Leading the design, implementation, and maintenance of both on-premise and cloud-based network solutions, including LAN, WAN, SD-WAN, datacenter, wireless networks, and telephony systems.
- Implementing network management and monitoring tools and processes to ensure system observability and uptime.
- Developing and implementing standard operating procedures and configuration standards to improve operational efficiency.
- Managing cloud connectivity to ensure secure and seamless access to cloud services, including AWS and Azure.
- Identifying, researching, and evaluating emerging network technologies to meet current and future technology needs.
- Ensuring a scalable and efficient network infrastructure that supports current and future business needs, regularly assessing capacity, performance, and utilization trends.
- Overseeing incident management and troubleshooting, including root cause analysis, resolution documentation, and post-incident reviews.
- Managing network-related projects, including system deployments and upgrades, office buildouts/expansion, and hardware refreshes.
- Coordinating across Technology groups such as Data Center and Cloud Engineering, Security, DevOps, Enterprise Applications, and Enterprise Engineering to ensure network strategies align with Technology and firm initiatives.
- Managing relationships with vendors, negotiating contracts, and liaising with internal stakeholders.
- Evaluating and procuring hardware, licensing, and support agreements for networking equipment and systems.
- Participating in budget development and management, including forecasting and tracking expenses as well as variance reporting.
- Serving as a direct supervisor and mentor to direct reports to foster skill development and career growth.
- Providing day-to-day supervision of direct reports, ensuring compliance with assigned work hours, and monitoring for compliance with all firm and department policies.
- Managing staffing coverage, reviewing, and processing time logs/time off requests.
- Supporting business professional development and continued educational opportunities.
- Participating in hiring, performance appraisals, counseling, termination, and other employee lifecycle events in collaboration with immediate supervisor and CN HR.
- Performing all other duties as assigned or required.

Education and Experience Information:
Required:
- Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite, iManage, and other firm applications after orientation.
- Ability to work extended and/or weekend hours as required.
- Ability to travel as required.
- 5+ years of experience in network engineering and support.
- For senior candidates, 7+ years of applicable experience in the field with 2+ years of exempt/management experience in relevant roles.
- Strong understanding of Cisco LAN/WAN architecture and routing protocols.
- Strong understanding of Cisco data center networking.
- Comprehensive knowledge of Wi-Fi standards, enterprise wireless solutions, RF optimization, and troubleshooting.
- Knowledge of hybrid cloud architecture and cloud-to-on-premise integrations.
- Understanding of firewall concepts and configuration.

Preferred:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related discipline.
- Experience managing and mentoring technical teams.
- Experience deploying and managing Cisco SD-WAN.
- Experience with Aruba Wireless and Clearpass and/or Meraki wireless.
- Experience with Palo Alto Networks firewalls and Prisma Access/Remote Networks.
- Working knowledge of AWS networking concepts.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code methodology and deployment.

Salary Information:
The law firm offers a competitive compensation and excellent benefits package, committed to fair and equitable employment practices. The expected annual pay range for this position with a full-time schedule is $155,000 - $205,000. The final offer amount will depend on geographic location, applicable experience, and skillset of the candidate. Senior-level candidates may be considered for this position and would be eligible for a higher salary range based on experience.
