**Members Only** is a non-profit organization that provides free legal assistance and community legal education to low-income and other vulnerable individuals in Iowa. They are currently seeking a paralegal to join their team and assist with providing legal services to their clients. The paralegal will work closely with staff attorneys and other agencies to ensure that clients receive the help they need. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a background in paralegal work and a passion for social justice to make a positive impact in their community.

Responsibilities:

- Conduct initial client screening and intake, including data entry and assessment of eligibility and conflict status.
- Assist staff attorneys with legal services, including research and document preparation.
- Collaborate with other agencies for client referrals.
- Help prepare for and provide support at Eviction Help Desks.
- Manage case management systems.
- Represent **Members Only** in the community and among client groups.
- Advocate for clients before administrative agencies.
- Coordinate and conduct outreach and community legal education.
- Perform administrative and clerical duties as needed.
- Other tasks as assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications:

- Associate's or bachelor's degree required, preference given to those with a paralegal degree or relevant experience.
- Experience working with vulnerable populations, such as low-income, elderly, domestic/sexual violence victims, people of color, and individuals with disabilities.
- Knowledge of trauma-informed services.
- Bilingual in one of the languages commonly used by low-income Iowans, such as Arabic, Bosnian, Spanish, or Vietnamese.

Salary and Benefits:

- Starting salary of $41,873, with potential for higher salary based on experience.
- Excellent fringe benefits.
