Job Title: In-House Insurance Defense Trial Attorney

Job Responsibilities:
- Manage the entire legal process from investigation and discovery through trial preparation and court proceedings.
- Represent clients in various legal situations including depositions, site inspections, court hearings, trials, and negotiate settlements as necessary.
- Develop appropriate legal strategies for all stages of litigation by researching applicable laws and findings.
- Share legal strategies with claims representatives and insured clients.
- Establish and maintain good relationships with claims representatives and clients.
- Occasionally conduct training sessions for legal, claims, or other departments.
- Develop and render clear, unambiguous legal opinions and strategies.
- Draft legal documents including pleadings and motions.
- Provide guidance and direction to junior attorneys as needed.
- Prepare and conduct training sessions for the legal and claims departments.
- Collaborate with colleagues who are remotely located.

Education and Experience Information:
- Membership in the New York State Bar.
- Special licenses to practice before boards or federal courts preferred.
- Minimum of six years of successful experience as an attorney.
- JD degree required.
