Job Title: Paralegal - Trusts & Estates

Job Responsibilities:

- Responsible for the daily administration of a variety of client trust accounts, including managing accounts, preparing letters, and completing transfer forms.
- Assist in drafting estate planning documents such as wills, powers of attorney, and both basic and advanced trusts.
- Help manage and organize estate and probate files to ensure proper documentation and compliance.
- Prepare accounting and financial statements related to trusts and estates.
- Docketing court documents and ensuring timely filing.
- Filing and obtaining necessary records with courts and government offices to support legal proceedings.
- Proofread documents for spelling, grammatical, and formatting errors to ensure accuracy and professionalism.
- Communicate directly with clients to provide updates or assist with accounting and tax needs, ensuring a high level of client service.

Education and Experience Information:

- A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience is required.
- Paralegal Certification is preferred, indicating a formal recognition of paralegal skills.
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience in a professional environment, including progressive responsibility in managing client trust accounts.
- Experience working in a law firm is preferred, highlighting familiarity with legal environments and procedures.
- High proficiency with technology, including Microsoft Office Suite applications, Adobe Acrobat, DocuSign, Lexis/Nexis, and other internet research tools, is essential.
- Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multi-task effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated highly effective written and oral communication skills.
- Creative problem-solving abilities are required to address complex legal issues.
- Ability to work independently and take initiative to move projects to conclusion.
- Maintain a professional demeanor in stressful situations.
- Reliable and dependable team player with a strong sense of confidentiality regarding client information.
- Ability to perform well under pressure, ensuring deadlines are met and client needs are addressed promptly.
