IP Litigation Paralegal The candidate will work with all of the attorneys on the matter from the beginning through trial and appeal, managing the flow of information and ensuring adherence to best practices. Manage the case file, keeping track of all litigation deadlines with the assistance of the docketing department, coordinating the preparation of legal papers, cite checking and proofing legal papers and briefs prior to filing, and supporting attorneys in preparing for depositions and hearings. Coordinate, preparation and filing of briefs and legal documents in federal courts (district court and Federal Circuit) and PTAB. Obtain information and materials from IP vendors and government agencies, such as the US Patent & Trademark Office. Manage document production processes - hard copy, electronic, etc.. Conduct substantive Research. Interact with outside entities (clients, government agencies, expert witnesses, consultants, other law firms, opposing parties, court personnel, etc.). Manage litigation support systems. Cite Checking. Manage preparation for witnesses and depositions. Manage resources, including support staff. Bachelor's Degree is preferred. Should have 5+ years of IP Litigation Paralegal experience. Experience with electronic filing systems is required, and experience with USPTO systems (such as PAIR and Assignments on the Web) and Docket Navigator are a plus. Must have experience managing and supporting discovery, which primarily involves assisting attorneys with preparing to take and defend depositions, as well as respond to written discovery (interrogatories, requests for admission, document requests), and collecting and producing documents. Experience in handling PTAB filings and related discovery is a plus. ABA approved Paralegal Certificate is required.
